Super Bowl LXI is at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and Discover Los Angeles, the city’s official tourism guide, gives the date as 14 February 2027. If you are working out where to stay for the Super Bowl 2027, two things shape the bill. The first is the hotel tax: Inglewood charges 15.5%, the hotels a short ride away sit in cities charging 12% to 15%, and Hawthorne has a vote on 3 November 2026 that could take its rate from 12% to 17%. The second is the route, because SoFi’s own page says onsite parking is extremely limited for NFL games, so how you reach the stadium decides where you sleep.
This guide covers what is confirmed about the date and what is not, six areas matched to how you get to the stadium, 12 hotels, and the terms that catch people out. For the rest of your trip, where to stay in Los Angeles covers the beach, Hollywood and West Hollywood, and four of its hotels also appear here. The hotels are researched picks, chosen for location, what each property publishes and consistent guest feedback, and each was checked as operating in October 2026. No hotel pays to appear here. We cannot see availability or rates, so nothing here promises a room.
The short answer
| If you want… | Stay in | Why |
|---|---|---|
| the shortest trip to the stadium | Inglewood and Hawthorne | One hotel says it is less than a mile from SoFi, another a 10-minute drive |
| the Metro route or a hotel shuttle | LAX and Century Boulevard | Metro’s stadium shuttle boards at the LAX/Metro Transit Center, and one hotel sells a game-day shuttle |
| a quieter base on the airport’s far side | El Segundo | Hilton’s page puts SoFi 4.7 miles away, with a free breakfast |
| a walkable neighbourhood and a middle distance | Culver City | Two historic boutique hotels; a bus link to the stadium is paused for now |
| a city stay on the rail network | Downtown Los Angeles | Metro to the LAX/Metro Transit Center takes 45 to 55 minutes by Metro’s count, before the shuttle |
| the beach, and a long ride on game day | Santa Monica | Metro’s count is 55 to 60 minutes to the LAX/Metro Transit Center, but it is the best base for the rest of the trip |

Super Bowl LXI: what is confirmed and what is not
| Question | What we found |
|---|---|
| Date | Sunday 14 February 2027, on Discover Los Angeles’s Super Bowl page, run by the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. NFL.com’s announcement says only February 2027. |
| Venue | SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, which NFL.com says will make it the second Super Bowl played there and the ninth in Los Angeles County |
| Kickoff time | None found on the NFL, SoFi or Discover Los Angeles pages we read |
| Game-day transport plan | None published that we found. SoFi’s and Metro’s pages describe regular NFL games, not this one |
| Tickets | NFL.com’s Super Bowl page links official ticket packages sold by On Location. A hotel booking does not include a ticket |
Everything about getting to SoFi below comes from pages written for regular-season NFL games, and we label it that way. The Super Bowl will have its own plan, and in 2027 the details may differ, so check sofistadium.com and metro.net in January.
Getting to SoFi: the routes that exist today
For NFL games SoFi says onsite parking is extremely limited and that you must use an alternative if you do not hold a parking pass. These are the alternatives it and the operators list.
- Metro rail and the SoFi Stadium Express. Take the C or K Line to the LAX/Metro Transit Center, then board the SoFi Stadium Express at Bus Bay 8. Metro’s page says buses run every 10 minutes or less from three hours before kickoff, return service starts at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and buses then run every 5 minutes for 90 minutes after the game. Drop-off and pickup are in the transit lot at the south-east corner of Prairie and Arbor Vitae. Metro lists it as a service for Rams and Chargers games, and its regular fare is $1.75, or $3.50 round trip; Culver CityBus’s notice calls the shuttle free, so check the fare before you go. The K Line runs from Expo/Crenshaw Station to Redondo Beach.
- Metro buses at any time. Metro lists Line 115 to Manchester/Kareem, Line 117 to Prairie/Century and Line 212 to Prairie/Kelso.
- Inglewood Park & Go. The City of Inglewood’s scheme sells remote parking with a shuttle to its Intermodal Transit Facility next to the stadium; SoFi says to book in advance, because drive-up and walk-up rates are higher.
- Other buses. SoFi’s page lists GTrans Line 7X on Sundays from Harbor Gateway Transit Center, at $4 round trip, and Torrance Transit at $4 round trip. Culver CityBus has paused its Line 99 SoFi Express for the 2026 to 2027 NFL season, but its notice of 14 September says it is looking at bringing the service back for the Super Bowl.
- Rideshare. For ordinary events SoFi lists pickup at Kareem Court and Manchester Boulevard. Expect the Super Bowl’s zones to be set separately.
Getting in from LAX, and around
- Taxis and ride apps pick up at LAX-it, beside Terminal 1: a 3 to 8 minute walk from Terminals 1 and 7 and about 19 from Terminals 4 and 5, or take the free LAX-it shuttle from the green sign on the arrivals level.
- By Metro, the LAX/Metro Transit Center opened on 6 June 2025 on the C and K Lines. A free shuttle runs every 10 minutes between its Bus Bays 1 and 2 and every terminal. That is the same station where the SoFi Stadium Express boards.
- From Downtown or Santa Monica, take the E Line to Expo/Crenshaw and change to the K Line: about 45 to 55 minutes from 7th St/Metro Center and 55 to 60 from Downtown Santa Monica to the LAX/Metro Transit Center, by Metro’s count. That is the trip to the station, before the stadium shuttle.
- The FlyAway bus runs nonstop between LAX and Union Station for $12.75 one way, from the blue FlyAway columns on the arrivals level.
- Metro’s fare is $1.75 a ride, with free transfers for two hours and caps of $5 a day and $18 a week when you tap.
Los Angeles area hotel taxes in 2026
Each city sets its own rate, and the stadium and the hotels sit in different cities:
| City | Hotel tax | Added assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Inglewood (SoFi Stadium, The Anthem) | 15.5% | None found |
| City of Los Angeles (Century Boulevard by LAX, Downtown) | 14% | Hotels of 50 or more rooms: a Tourism Marketing District assessment, 2% under the district’s 2025–2034 plan |
| Culver City | 14% | None found |
| Santa Monica | 15% | A Tourism Marketing District assessment per room night, set by the hotel’s average rate |
| Hawthorne | 12%, with a vote on 3 November 2026 to raise it to 17% | None found |
| El Segundo | 12% | None listed on the city’s page |
Inglewood’s rate is the one to check. We found no current rate on the city’s own pages: the City of Inglewood’s 2021 election notice asked voters to raise the hotel guests’ tax from 14% to 15.5%, and the City of Los Angeles Office of Finance’s April 2025 memo lists Inglewood at 15.5%. Hawthorne’s finance page says its council voted on 23 June 2026 to put the measure on the 3 November 2026 ballot, that the rate stays at 12% if it fails, and that the Super Bowl is one of the reasons for the change. It gives no start date, and the result will not be known when you book.
Los Angeles’s rate is 14%, and the Tourism Marketing District is a hotel assessment, not a tax: its plan sets an initial rate of 2% for hotels of 50 or more rooms, lets it rise to 3%, and says an assessment passed on to guests must be shown separately. Santa Monica’s 2026 assessment is $7.25 a room night for hotels averaging above $300.
Our arithmetic for a $300 room, if the hotel passes it all on:
- Inglewood: $46.50, so $346.50 a night.
- City of Los Angeles, hotel of 50 or more rooms: $42.00 plus $6.00, so $348.00.
- Culver City: $42.00, so $342.00.
- Santa Monica, hotel averaging over $300: $45.00 plus up to $7.25, so $352.25.
- Hawthorne: $36.00, so $336.00 at 12%, or $51.00 and $351.00 at 17%.
- El Segundo: $36.00, so $336.00.
Many hotels add a daily destination, amenity or resort fee, which is in the hotel’s own terms, not the tax. The Culver Hotel lists a $29 destination amenity fee, and Hotel Casa del Mar a $60 resort fee plus 15% tax.
Inglewood and Hawthorne: the stadium district
Staying in Inglewood is the shortest trip, and the one that pays Inglewood’s 15.5%. Hotels here sell the game as the point, so ask what each includes on 14 February, not what its football-season page says. Hawthorne is the neighbouring city, with a 10-minute drive on its hotel’s count.
Where to stay in Inglewood and Hawthorne
How the hotel links work: a hotel’s name goes to its own website. “Check rates” opens it on Booking.com through our partner Stay22, which pays us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.
- The Anthem Los Angeles Stadium District, Tapestry by Hilton, comfortable. At 3900 West Century Boulevard, with 179 rooms and suites, a heated pool, Soundwave pool bar, Tom’s Watch Bar, and, by the hotel’s count, less than a mile from SoFi Stadium. It runs a Game Day Getaway package with complimentary entry to its poolside pep rallies and to tailgates at Tom’s Watch Bar. Choose it to walk to the game. Watch out: self-parking is not available and valet is $60.50 a night, and its site lists no Super Bowl terms. Check rates on Booking.com →
- TownePlace Suites by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne, good value. At 4427 West El Segundo Boulevard, with studios and two-room suites, complimentary breakfast daily, an outdoor pool and parking at $25 a day. The hotel says it is less than 5 miles from LAX and a 10-minute drive from SoFi Stadium. Choose it for a suite with a kitchen close to the stadium. Watch out: a 10-minute drive is not a game-day journey, and Hawthorne’s hotel tax may rise to 17%. Check rates on Booking.com →
LAX and Century Boulevard: the shuttle and the K Line
The two Century Boulevard hotels here are in the City of Los Angeles, so they pay its 14%. Metro’s stadium shuttle boards at the LAX/Metro Transit Center, and one hotel here has built a shuttle of its own.
Where to stay on Century Boulevard
- The Westin Los Angeles Airport, comfortable. At 5400 West Century Boulevard, a renovated hotel with suites, a Westin Club lounge, the Daily Grill and a free LAX shuttle; it says it is 2 miles from SoFi Stadium. It also offers parking for guests going to a SoFi event, with a rideshare to the stadium. Choose it for the airport shuttle and a lounge. Watch out: its page lists no game-day shuttle, so ask how guests reach SoFi on 14 February. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Century Boulevard, good value. At 6161 West Century Boulevard, with a free 24-hour LAX shuttle, The Bistro and parking at $58 a day. Its Game Day Package includes a round-trip shuttle to SoFi for up to two guests per room, with extra riders $30 each plus tax; shuttles start three hours before game time, run hourly until kickoff and run continuously after the final whistle. Choose it for a stadium shuttle booked with the room. Watch out: the offer is described for this football season, with stay dates from 1 August 2026 to 14 February 2027, and does not mention the Super Bowl, so ask whether it covers the night of the game. Check rates on Booking.com →
El Segundo: the quieter side of the airport
El Segundo is a separate city beside the airport, with a 12% hotel tax. You choose it for a calm evening away from the stadium crowd, and you pay for it with a longer, less direct journey on game day.
Where to stay in El Segundo
- Hampton Inn & Suites LAX-El Segundo, good value. At 888 N. Pacific Coast Highway, one mile from LAX, with free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, an indoor pool and Hilton’s page putting SoFi Stadium 4.70 miles away. Choose it for a free breakfast and a low-key base. Watch out: self-parking is $30 a day, and the hotel publishes no shuttle to the stadium. Check rates on Booking.com →
Culver City: the walkable middle
Culver City has its own hotel tax at 14% and a walkable centre. It has no direct stadium service at present: Culver CityBus’s Line 99 SoFi Express is paused for this NFL season, and its notice says Lines 6 and 6R connect to the LAX/Metro Transit Center. Treat the Super Bowl service as unconfirmed until Culver CityBus announces it.
Where to stay in Culver City
- The Culver Hotel, comfortable. At 9400 Culver Boulevard, a 1924 landmark with 46 guest rooms and suites, a bar and restaurant, live music, a garden patio and a 24-hour reception. Its site lists SoFi Stadium proximity but gives no distance. Choose it for history in a walkable centre. Watch out: a $29 destination amenity fee and overnight parking at $29 with in-and-out privileges. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Palihotel Culver City, comfortable. At 3927 Van Buren Place, a 49-room boutique hotel in the former West End Hotel, a boarding house from the 1920s, with the restaurant and bar Simonette. Choose it for design in a small building. Watch out: its page lists no fees or parking, so ask for the total. Check rates on Booking.com →
Downtown Los Angeles: the rail hub
Downtown is the choice if the game is one part of a longer city trip. The route is the long one: Metro puts the ride from 7th St/Metro Center to the LAX/Metro Transit Center at 45 to 55 minutes, after which you board the stadium shuttle. The FlyAway runs from the airport to Union Station.
Where to stay in Downtown Los Angeles
- Hotel Figueroa, good value. At 939 S. Figueroa Street, restored in the style of its 1926 original, steps from Crypto.com Arena and the Convention Center, with Café Fig and Bar Magnolia. Choose it for history near the arena. Watch out: every booking carries a $35 amenity fee plus tax a night, and valet parking is $62 plus tax. Check rates on Booking.com →
- The Hoxton, Downtown LA, comfortable. At 1060 S. Broadway, with 174 rooms and a rooftop pool over Broadway, in the former headquarters of the Los Angeles Railway. The hotel gives LAX as a 30-minute taxi ride without traffic. Choose it for style and a pool. Watch out: valet parking is $66 a night. Check rates on Booking.com →
Santa Monica: the beach, and a long ride
Santa Monica pays 15%, and Metro’s count is 55 to 60 minutes from Downtown Santa Monica to the LAX/Metro Transit Center before the stadium shuttle. Choose it if the weekend is a beach trip with a football game attached. We left out Marina del Rey, because we could not source its hotel tax from an official page.
Where to stay in Santa Monica
- Hotel Casa del Mar, splurge. At 1910 Ocean Way, an oceanfront hotel with eight room categories, ten suites, the restaurant Terrazza and the Sea Wellness Spa. Choose it for the beach at the door. Watch out: the hotel’s guide lists a $60 resort fee plus 15% tax, and overnight parking at $90. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Shutters on the Beach, splurge. At 1 Pico Boulevard, a beachfront hotel with direct beach access, which says it holds a Michelin Key. Choose it for a beach resort on the sand. Watch out: the pages we read give no fee table, so ask for the total with any daily fee. Check rates on Booking.com →
- HI Los Angeles Santa Monica Hostel, budget. At 1436 2nd Street, with dorms of four to ten beds, private rooms, a guest kitchen and the Third Street Promenade 0.2 miles away. Choose it to keep money for the game. Watch out: alcohol is not allowed, dorms are shared, and the maximum stay is 14 nights per calendar year. Check rates on Booking.com →
How to book Super Bowl weekend in Los Angeles
- Choose the route first. The shortest trip is Inglewood, the best-served by Metro is the LAX/Metro Transit Center and the quiet one is El Segundo. Everything we found about game-day transport is for regular NFL games.
- Ask what is included on the night. The Courtyard’s Game Day Package and The Anthem’s Game Day Getaway are written for football season. Ask in writing whether each applies to 14 February.
- Count the tax. Add 15.5% in Inglewood, 14% in Los Angeles and Culver City, 15% in Santa Monica, 12% in El Segundo and 12% or 17% in Hawthorne, plus any assessment the hotel passes on.
- Add the daily fee and the parking. Parking is a second bill: $25 a day at the TownePlace Suites, $29 at The Culver Hotel and $60.50 at The Anthem, which has no self-parking.
- Check the cancellation terms before you pay. None of the hotels publishes Super Bowl terms that we could find.
- Do not rely on a ticket-and-room bundle you cannot read. NFL.com points to On Location for official packages; any seller’s terms should say what the room includes.
- Compare totals. Our hotel booking sites compared goes through where to book, and hotel taxes around the world puts these rates beside other cities.

Frequently asked questions
When and where is Super Bowl LXI?
Discover Los Angeles, the official Los Angeles tourism guide, gives the date as 14 February 2027. NFL.com says the game will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in February 2027. We found no kickoff time on the NFL, SoFi or Discover Los Angeles pages we read.
Where is the best place to stay for the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium?
For the shortest trip, stay in Inglewood: The Anthem says it is less than a mile from SoFi Stadium. For Metro, stay near the LAX/Metro Transit Center, where Metro's SoFi Stadium Express boards for regular NFL games. Hotels in Culver City, Downtown and Santa Monica are further away.
How do you get to SoFi Stadium without a car?
For regular NFL games Metro runs the SoFi Stadium Express from Bus Bay 8 at the LAX/Metro Transit Center, reached by the C or K Line. SoFi also lists GTrans Line 7X and Torrance Transit at $4 round trip, and the City of Inglewood's Park & Go shuttles. No official Super Bowl LXI transport plan had been published when we checked.
How much is the hotel tax near SoFi Stadium?
Inglewood's rate is 15.5%, per the City of Los Angeles Office of Finance's April 2025 memo and the city's 2021 election notice. The City of Los Angeles and Culver City charge 14%, Santa Monica 15% and El Segundo 12%. Hawthorne charges 12% and has a vote on 3 November 2026 to raise it to 17%. On a $300 room that is between $336 and $352.25 a night by our arithmetic.
Will Hawthorne's hotel tax rise before the Super Bowl?
It is on the ballot. Hawthorne's council voted on 23 June 2026 to put a measure on the 3 November 2026 ballot that would raise the hotel tax from 12% to 17%. The city's page says the rate stays at 12% if it fails and gives no start date if it passes, so check the result and ask the hotel.
Do hotels near SoFi offer a Super Bowl shuttle?
One does, for football season: the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Century Boulevard sells a Game Day Package with a round-trip shuttle for up to two guests per room, for stay dates from 1 August 2026 to 14 February 2027. Its page does not mention the Super Bowl, so ask whether it covers the night of the game.
