Is Viator cheaper than Klook?
Not reliably, and anyone who tells you one platform always wins is guessing.
The platforms are resellers. An operator lists the same tour on several of them and agrees terms with each separately, so the price you see depends on that operator’s deal with that site — and it moves with demand. The same tour can be cheaper on Klook one week and on Viator the next.
There are tendencies, though:
- In Asia, Klook is usually cheaper. It holds direct partnerships with local operators and runs frequent sales, and its catalogue there is deeper.
- In Europe and the Americas, Viator’s sheer volume creates more competition between operators on the same routes, which tends to keep its prices sharp there.
Our own checks in September 2026 fit the pattern, though they compare entry prices in the same category rather than identical tours: the standard Mount Fuji day tour sat at about ¥7,800 on Klook and KKday while Viator’s guided full days started around US$66, and Chao Phraya dinner cruises started from about ฿880 on KKday against roughly US$31 on Viator.
The only reliable method: find the operator’s name on any listing, search that name on both platforms, and compare the same date — then read the inclusions line before the price. A “cheaper” tour that leaves out an entrance ticket is not cheaper.
Does Viator or Klook have more activities?
Viator, by a wide margin — more than 400,000 experiences, and it is a Tripadvisor company, so its reach follows Tripadvisor’s. It also advertises round-the-clock customer support.
Klook was founded in Hong Kong in 2014 and works with more than 100,000 operators across a few thousand destinations, concentrated in Asia-Pacific. Its catalogue is smaller overall, but in Asia it carries categories Viator barely touches: Japan Rail and regional passes, airport transfers, SIM cards and eSIMs, and attraction tickets bundled with transport.
So “more” depends on the question. More activities in total: Viator. More of what you will actually need for a trip to Japan, Korea, Taiwan or Southeast Asia: usually Klook. Our Klook vs KKday comparison covers the other Asia specialist.
Which is better for families with kids?
In Asia, the big family days are theme parks and attractions, and that is Klook’s home ground — the tickets are listed with child prices, often bundled with the transport to get there.
For moving a family around, look at private car charters, which Klook lists across Asia and sizes by vehicle rather than by seat:

Viator’s family strength is different: many of its private tours are priced per group, not per person. For a family of five or six, divide the group price by heads before dismissing a private tour as extravagant — it can come close to the per-person price of a public one, without strangers or a fixed pace.
On any platform, check the child age bands and minimum ages on the listing itself. They differ by operator, not by site.
Which is better for groups?
It depends on the format you want:
- A guided tour just for your group: Viator’s Private & Custom Tours category is the widest, and the per-group pricing is what makes it work.
- Your own itinerary with a driver: Klook’s private car charters in Asia — pick the vehicle for your headcount and plan the stops.
- A public tour with friends: compare the same listing on both. Group size does not change the platform maths; the operator’s price does.
Which is better for couples?
Neither, honestly. The experiences couples book — sunset cruises, dinner cruises, food tours, a day trip somewhere scenic — are usually resold by the same operators on all three sites. The operator decides whether the evening is good; the platform only decides what you pay and what happens if you cancel. Compare the specific listing, then choose on price and cancellation terms. The practical rule: read the cancellation line on the specific listing, on every platform. It is set per product, and on weather-dependent tours it is worth more than a small price difference.

Neither programme is a reason to choose a platform for a single trip. They matter only if you book several activities a year.
Where GetYourGuide fits
GetYourGuide is strongest in Europe, where its skip-the-line tickets and guided tours are dense, and it is the platform whose free-cancellation policy is applied most consistently. On dinner cruises it also lays out menu tiers clearly, which makes a three-course and a five-course easy to compare. If your trip is European and the booking is weather-sensitive, it is often the calm choice.
