Whistler Blackcomb lists opening day for the 2026/27 winter as 20 November 2026, and has not yet published a closing date. Whistler sits on shared unceded L̓il̓wat7úl and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory, and the resort’s two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, are sold on one pass, so the choice of where to sleep is mostly a choice of which lift you want at your door. The bill has a second layer: a hotel room here carries 8% provincial sales tax, a 3% hotel tax and 5% GST, so the price on the screen grows by about 16% before any resort charge.

This guide covers the season and the lift pass, five places to stay, 12 hotels from ski-in, ski-out resorts to a pod hotel and a hostel, the taxes, and the airport bus from Vancouver. The hotels are researched picks, chosen for location, what each property publishes and consistent guest feedback, and each was checked as operating in October 2026. No hotel pays to appear here.

The 2026/27 season and the lift pass

Whistler Blackcomb’s hours page gives opening day as 20 November 2026 and says opening and closing dates depend on weather and conditions. It lists no closing date for 2026/27 yet, so do not book a late-April or May trip on an assumed date. Base-area lift hours for the winter:

Dates Lifts open Lifts close
Opening day to 15 January 9:00 am 3:30 pm
16 January to 12 February 9:00 am 4:00 pm
13 February to closing day 8:30 am 4:00 pm

The pass options we could read on the official pages on 25 October 2026. Prices change, and the day-pass and lift-ticket prices vary by date:

Option Price Notes
Epic Pass, adult (31 and over) US$1,169 Unlimited, unrestricted access at Whistler Blackcomb
Epic Pass, young adult (18 to 30) or teen (13 to 17) US$929 The same access
Epic Pass, child (5 to 12) US$599 The same access
Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass, adult, 4 days, without peak dates C$517, or C$130 a day Adding peak dates adds C$93 to the total
Single-day lift ticket, adult up to C$309 a day The highest 7-day-advance price listed this season

The Epic Pass also lists five consecutive days at Hakuba Valley in Japan, which is useful if you are weighing where to stay in Hakuba for the same winter. Epic Mountain Rewards, included with every Epic Pass, lists 20% off lodging among its benefits; check that your hotel takes part before you count on it.

Whistler Village: the pedestrian centre

Whistler Village is where the restaurants, bars and shops are, with the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas a short walk away. The hotels here range from a resort at the base of Whistler Mountain to a pod hotel 210 m from the gondolas.

Upper Village is the base of Blackcomb Mountain, with two resort hotels. The Fairmont describes itself as ski-in, ski-out, and the Four Seasons runs its ski concierge from the Blackcomb base.

Where to stay in Upper Village

Main Street: the quieter edge of the Village

Three hotels sit on Main Street, at the edge of Whistler Village, and they trade a little walking for kitchens, fireplaces and lower prices. Delta lists its address as 4308 Main Street, near Olympic Plaza.

Creekside: a smaller village and its own gondola

Creekside is the south-side base, which Nita Lake Lodge puts about 5 km south of the main Village. It has a small village of shops, cafes and restaurants, and its own gondola station that uploads Whistler Mountain in winter.

The taxes

Whistler charges three taxes on a room, and all three show up at checkout rather than in the advertised rate.

Tax Rate Applies to
Provincial sales tax (PST) 8% The room price, including added fees
Municipal and regional district tax (MRDT) 3% The room price, including added fees
Goods and services tax (GST) 5% The room price and fees, not the PST or MRDT

That is 16% of the price before tax. Whistler’s municipality describes its 3% hotel tax as in addition to the 8% PST, and the province says GST is not charged on the PST or MRDT outside the City of Vancouver. The PST and MRDT also apply to fees the hotel adds, such as a resort charge. If your stay runs past 26 days, the PST and MRDT stop for the rest of it.

A worked example, our arithmetic: a C$350 room plus the Hilton’s C$40 resort charge is C$390 a night. PST is C$31.20, MRDT C$11.70 and GST C$19.50, so the night costs C$452.40, which is 16% more than the C$390 shown. See hotel taxes around the world for how this compares, and our Vancouver guide, where the city adds a further 2.5% and GST applies to the provincial taxes.
