CES 2027 runs from 6 to 9 January in Las Vegas, by the show’s own website, and the room rate is not the price. Near the Strip the room tax is 13.38%, most big resorts add a mandatory daily resort fee, and CES’s housing page warns that rates rise as January approaches and some official hotels sell out. The route matters as much: the show spans three campuses, and where you sleep decides whether you ride a free shuttle, the Vegas Loop, the monorail or a taxi queue.
This guide covers what CES publishes about dates, venues and transport, five areas matched to how you reach the show, 12 hotels, the tax and fees, and the airport links. For the rest of the city, where to stay in Las Vegas covers the Strip’s stretches and Summerlin, and six of its hotels appear here. The hotels are researched picks, chosen for location, what each property publishes and consistent guest feedback, and each was checked as operating in November 2026. No hotel pays to appear here. We cannot see availability or rates, so nothing here promises a room.

CES 2027: what is published
| Question | What we found |
|---|---|
| Dates | ces.tech gives “January 6-9” in Las Vegas, with CES Unveiled Las Vegas on Monday 4 January. Its dates page lists Media Days at Mandalay Bay on 4 and 5 January |
| Exhibit hours | The transport flyer lists Wednesday 10 am to 6 pm, Thursday and Friday 9 am to 6 pm, Saturday 9 am to 4 pm |
| Venues | 13 official venues in three campuses: the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), the Venetian and C Space, which the transport page places at ARIA. We did not read the hall-by-hall map PDFs |
| Housing | CES says onPeak is “the only official housing agent for CES 2027” and warns that other resellers are not affiliated with it |
| Rates | No prices on the page; it says rates will increase as January approaches |
Everything below about shuttles comes from CES’s transportation page and 2027 flyer, so check them again in December.
Getting to the show: shuttles, the Loop and the monorail
- Free hotel shuttles. CES says complimentary shuttles run at select official CES hotels to and from the LVCC and the Venetian Expo from Tuesday 5 to Saturday 9 January, and the flyer says an official badge is required. Routes: 1 Encore and Wynn; 2 Treasure Island; 3 MGM Grand, New York-New York and Signature; 4 Mandalay Bay and W; 5 Circa, The Fremont, Golden Nugget and The Plaza; 6 Bellagio and Cosmopolitan; 7 ARIA, Park MGM and Vdara; 8 Excalibur and Luxor. Routes 1 and 2 serve the LVCC only; 3 to 8 also serve the Venetian Expo.
- Shuttle hours. On Tuesday routes run 8 am to 6 pm. From Wednesday to Friday routes 1 to 6 and 8 run 7:30 to 10:30 am and 4 to 6:30 pm, with no midday service; route 7 also runs 10:30 am to 4 pm.
- Tech Express (route 9). A free shuttle between the LVCC and the Venetian Expo every 10 minutes, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm Wednesday to Friday, boarding in the LVCC’s Central Plaza and on Sands Avenue.
- Vegas Loop. CES says the Vegas Loop runs between the LVCC and five hotels, Encore, Fontainebleau, Resorts World, SAHARA and Westgate, for “a small fare”. CES and the LVCVA say trips within the LVCC are free. We could not read a published fare for the hotel trips, because vegasloop.com shows it only after you choose a route, so check it first.
- Monorail. Seven stations run from MGM Grand to SAHARA, including Westgate and one at the LVCC. A single ride is $5.75 as an eTicket and $6.25 at full fare; a one-day pass is $13.95 or $15.50; a three-day pass is $30.85 or $33. CES says discounted passes are sold through registration, and that the monorail does not serve the Venetian Expo.
- Taxis and apps. CES says taxi lines can be long at the close of each day, and that LVCC pickup and drop-off is limited to the S2, C5 and West Hall entrances.
Getting in from Harry Reid airport
- By taxi, the Nevada Taxicab Authority lists flat zone fares from the airport: $22.25 to Zone 1, Sunset north to Tropicana; $26.25 to Zone 2, Tropicana north to Flamingo; and $30.25 to Zone 3, Flamingo north to the Stratosphere. It adds a $2.40 airport properties fee per pick-up, a $3 card fee, a fuel surcharge and a 3% excise tax, and lists no Convention Center zone, so ask for a price first.
- CES airport shuttle. The flyer lists a $10 one-way shuttle to the airport on Thursday and Friday from noon to 7 pm and on Saturday from noon to 5 pm, boarding at the LVCC South shuttle area and the Venetian underground shuttle area. By app, pickup is on Level 2 of the Terminal 1 garage and the Valet Level at Terminal 3.
Room tax and resort fees
The City of Las Vegas’s room tax guide, which covers properties in the city, gives a combined rate of 13.38% inside the Primary Gaming Corridor, the zone around the Strip, and 13% outside it. It says the tax must be shown as a separate charge, and it counts resort fees in the revenue the tax applies to. SAHARA and Alexis Park state 13.38% on their own sites, and the Plaza, downtown, 13%.
Resort fees are set by each hotel. These seven publish an amount on their own pages:
| Hotel | Daily resort fee, as the hotel states it |
|---|---|
| Alexis Park All Suite Resort | $37.42 |
| Plaza Hotel & Casino | $39 plus tax |
| Treasure Island | $49.95 plus tax |
| SAHARA Las Vegas | $54.95 plus 13.38% tax |
| The Venetian Resort Las Vegas | $55 plus tax |
| Encore at Wynn Las Vegas | $55 plus tax |
| Hilton Las Vegas at Resorts World | $55 per room, waived only for stays through 28 December 2026 |
The other five show no amount on the pages we read, so the total appears at booking. Since 12 May 2025 the Federal Trade Commission’s fees rule has covered hotels, and its guidance says a mandatory resort fee must be included in the total price shown upfront; taxes are the exception. Compare the total, not the headline.
A worked example, our arithmetic. A $200 room with a $55 fee, with 13.38% applied to both, is $255 before tax and $289.12 after: $89.12, or 45%, above the room rate. With Alexis Park’s $37.42 fee it comes to $269.19. This assumes the tax applies to the fee, as SAHARA’s and the Plaza’s pages say for their own fees.
Near the Convention Center: Westgate, Resorts World and SAHARA
Three hotels here have their own Vegas Loop link to the LVCC, and Westgate and SAHARA have monorail stops, so you can skip the shuttle timetable. The trade-off is the Strip: Westgate calls itself one block from it, and SAHARA is at its north end.
Where to stay near the Convention Center
How the hotel links work: a hotel’s name goes to its own website. “Check rates” opens it on Booking.com through our partner Stay22, which pays us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.
- Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, good value. At 3000 Paradise Road, which the hotel calls adjacent to the Convention Center and one block from the Strip, with its own monorail stop and Vegas Loop station. Its rooms are 400 sq ft, and some list a kitchenette. Choose it to be closest to the LVCC. Watch out: its pages show no resort fee amount or parking figure, so check both at booking. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Hilton Las Vegas at Resorts World, comfortable. The resort’s Hilton has 1,774 rooms, in a 3,500-room complex at 3000 South Las Vegas Boulevard with a Resorts World station on the Vegas Loop and a 5.5-acre pool deck. Choose it for a Loop link and a big resort. Watch out: its homepage promises no resort fees, but the offer’s terms say the $55 fee is waived only for travel through 28 December 2026. Check rates on Booking.com →
- SAHARA Las Vegas, good value. At 2535 Las Vegas Boulevard South, with a monorail station and a Vegas Loop link, a $54.95 daily fee that its FAQ says includes free valet and self-parking, and 13.38% tax. Choose it for the monorail and free parking. Watch out: it is not on a CES hotel shuttle route, and the monorail does not serve the Venetian Expo. Check rates on Booking.com →
The Venetian, Wynn and Treasure Island: the north-central Strip
The Venetian is the second CES campus, so staying here can mean a short walk to the Venetian Expo and the free Tech Express to the LVCC. Encore and Treasure Island each have their own LVCC shuttle route.
Where to stay at the Venetian, Wynn and Treasure Island
- The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, splurge. Every room is a suite: the standard Luxury Suites run from 650 to 750 sq ft, by the hotel’s count. Choose it for the Venetian Expo on your doorstep. Watch out: its fee page states $55 plus tax a night, payable at check-in, and it is not on CES’s hotel shuttle list, so you rely on the Tech Express. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, splurge. Encore’s rooms are all suites: the Resort room is 745 sq ft, with a separate living space, and the $55 fee includes self-parking for up to two vehicles. CES lists it on shuttle route 1 and as a Vegas Loop hotel. Choose it for space and a Loop link. Watch out: route 1 serves the LVCC only, so the Venetian Expo means the Tech Express from there. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Treasure Island, good value. At 3300 Las Vegas Boulevard South, with rooms of about 400 sq ft, free self-parking and valet, and a $49.95 plus tax resort fee, optional only for certain Guestbook and Treasury Players Club members. It is on CES shuttle route 2. Choose it for a lower fee and free parking. Watch out: route 2 serves the LVCC only, and from Wednesday to Friday it runs mornings and evenings only. Check rates on Booking.com →
The Center Strip: C Space and a central base
ARIA hosts C Space, and the Cosmopolitan sits beside it. This is the middle of the Strip, with a longer ride to the Convention Center by shuttle or taxi.
Where to stay on the Center Strip
- The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, comfortable. Its rooms run from a 460 sq ft City Room Queen to 730 sq ft Terrace Studios with private terraces, and CES lists it on shuttle route 6 from the Tiffany Lot. Choose it for a terrace and a central address. Watch out: route 6 has no midday service, though the flyer says route 7 from ARIA covers it then, and its pages show no fee amount. Check rates on Booking.com →
- ARIA Resort & Casino, splurge. Its Deluxe rooms are 520 sq ft, and it is the CES C Space venue, with shuttle route 7 running all day. Choose it to be at C Space. Watch out: the FAQ gives no fee amount, so the total appears at booking. Check rates on Booking.com →
Downtown: old Las Vegas and a lower fee
Downtown is a different trip: Fremont Street and the older casinos. CES’s route 5 boards at the Golden Nugget’s Carson Tower entrance, and the Plaza’s published fee is among the lowest here.
Where to stay Downtown
- Circa Resort & Casino, comfortable. At 8 Fremont Street, a 21-and-over property that includes hotel guests, with self-parking at $25 a day, valet at $20 and two complimentary Stadium Swim passes per room each night. Choose it for a modern downtown hotel. Watch out: it is adults only, we found no resort fee amount on the pages we read, and CES’s route 5 boards at the Golden Nugget, not at Circa. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Plaza Hotel & Casino, budget. At the start of Fremont Street, with an average room of 325 sq ft and a mandatory $39 plus tax resort fee that includes covered parking and the fitness centre. Choose it for the lowest published fee among the casino hotels here. Watch out: it is downtown, away from the Strip, and route 5 runs mornings and evenings only from Wednesday to Friday, so plan the midday trip. Check rates on Booking.com →
Off-Strip value: a kitchen, or no casino
Neither hotel here is on CES’s shuttle routes, so plan on the Loop, the monorail or a taxi.
Where to stay off the Strip
- Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Convention Center, good value. At 3225 Paradise Road, an all-suite hotel with full kitchens and complimentary hot breakfast, which it says is a step from the Convention Center. Parking is $22 a day. Choose it for a kitchen and a free breakfast. Watch out: it is not on the CES shuttle list, and we found no resort fee on its page. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Alexis Park All Suite Resort, good value. At 375 East Harmon Avenue, it calls itself the largest off-Strip, non-gaming resort in Las Vegas, with a $37.42 fee and 13.38% lodging tax. Choose it for a suite with no casino floor. Watch out: its FAQ says it runs no shuttle to the airport or the Strip, so you pay for every ride. Check rates on Booking.com →
How to book CES week in Las Vegas
- Decide how you reach the show first. For no shuttle, Westgate and Resorts World are the Loop hotels; for the Venetian Expo, stay at the Venetian or on routes 3 to 8.
- Book early, and through a source you can check. CES says rates rise as January approaches and some hotels sell out; its housing page names onPeak as the only official agent and warns about look-alike resellers. It also says you can book directly with a hotel.
- Count the tax and the fee. Add 13.38% near the Strip, and the daily fee where a hotel lists one, $37.42 to $55 for the seven that publish it.
- Check the shuttle gap. From Wednesday to Friday, routes other than 7 skip the midday, so a lunchtime return needs the Tech Express, the monorail or a taxi.
- Add parking. Treasure Island and SAHARA include it, Circa charges $25 a day and the Residence Inn $22.
- Compare totals. Our hotel booking sites compared and direct booking versus agents cover where to book, and hotel taxes around the world sets these rates beside other cities.
