A Jeju hotel bill is simple: Korea’s value-added tax is 10%, several hotels quote prices that already include it, and we found no visitor entry or environmental fee in force for 2026. What changes the cost of a stay is the island itself. There is one airport, in Jeju City, and the airport limousine bus costs ₩1,300 to a Jeju City stop, ₩4,500 to the Jungmun resorts and ₩5,500 to the end of the line in Seogwipo.
This guide covers five areas, from Jeju City to the sunrise peak at Seongsan, 12 hotels, the airport buses and what the bill adds. The hotels are researched picks, chosen for location, what each property publishes and consistent guest feedback, and each was checked as operating in October 2026. No hotel pays to appear here.

What a Jeju hotel bill adds
| Charge | What we found for 2026 |
|---|---|
| Value-added tax (VAT) on the room | 10%, the general rate set out by the National Tax Service |
| A hotel’s own service charge | Not a tax; none of the 12 hotels’ own pages that we read states one |
| A visitor entry or environmental fee | None found in force; see below |
Whether the price you see includes the VAT depends on the hotel. Maison Glad Jeju says its package prices include tax, and Grand Josun Jeju marks its published room rates “tax included”. Check whether a booking page shows the price before or after tax, and ask for the all-in total if it says “plus”.
A worked example, our arithmetic: a room quoted at ₩200,000 before tax carries ₩20,000 of VAT, so it costs ₩220,000 a night and ₩660,000 for three nights. A room quoted at ₩220,000 with tax included is the same price.
Jeju has discussed charging visitors an environmental contribution for years. We found nothing in force for 2026: VisitJeju, the island’s official tourism portal, lists no such fee in its practical information, and we found no notice putting one into effect on the provincial government’s site. Check the province’s site before you travel.
One saving: Korea refunds the VAT on hotel room charges, for up to 30 nights, to foreign tourists travelling independently, at hotels designated for the scheme. Breakfast counts if it is in the room rate; package tours do not. Designations change each quarter, so ask the hotel when you book.
Getting in from Jeju International Airport, and around
Jeju International Airport (CJU) is the island’s only airport, in Jeju City. The airport limousine stop is in front of Gate 5, and the Jeju bus information system gives these adult fares on the 600 route:
| From the airport to | By | Adult fare |
|---|---|---|
| Jeju City stops, including Lotte City Hotel | Limousine 600 | ₩1,300 |
| The Jungmun resort hotels and the Jeju convention centre | Limousine 600 | ₩4,500 |
| Seogwipo KAL Hotel, the end of the line | Limousine 600 | ₩5,500 |
- The 600 runs about every 16 to 40 minutes. The Jeju bus system lists the first bus from the airport at 6.00am and the last at 10.20pm; the airport’s English page says 10.40pm, so check before a late flight. VisitJeju puts the ride at about 50 minutes to Jungmun and 80 to the KAL Hotel.
- The 601 is the variant for the big hotels. It enters the grounds of Lotte Hotel, The Suites Hotel and the Shilla; the 600 stops only at their entrances.
- The 800 skips Jungmun. It runs between Jeju Terminal, the airport and Seogwipo Terminal.
- Ordinary buses charge ₩1,150 by transport card or ₩1,200 in cash on trunk and branch routes; express buses cost ₩2,000 to ₩3,000 by card.
- Taxis queue outside Gate 3 of the arrivals hall. We give no fares; ask the driver or your hotel for an estimate.
Haevichi and Phoenix Island run their own airport shuttles, described below. To see the sights without driving, where to book a Jeju bus tour compares platforms for the east, west and south day tours.
Nohyeong and Yeon-dong: the airport base in Jeju City
The airport is in Jeju City, so the hotels along Noyeon-ro and Doryeong-ro, in the Nohyeong and Yeon-dong districts, are the shortest transfer on the island: Lotte City Hotel says 10 minutes by car, and Shilla Stay says 15 minutes by taxi or about 20 by bus. It is a city base rather than a beach one, and suits a first or last night or a hub for day tours.
Where to stay in Nohyeong and Yeon-dong
How the hotel links work: a hotel’s name goes to its own website. “Check rates” opens it on Booking.com through our partner Stay22, which pays us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.
- Lotte City Hotel Jeju, comfortable. At 83 Doryeong-ro, in Yeon-dong, 10 minutes from the airport by car by the hotel’s own count, with rooms of 30 to 35 m². The 600 airport bus has a stop named for it. Choose it for the airport close behind you and a ₩1,300 bus fare from the terminal. Watch out: the Standard rooms look onto the city; the ocean and mountain views are on the Deluxe and Superior rooms. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Maison Glad Jeju, comfortable. At 80 Noyeon-ro, with 457 guestrooms and 56 suites, a patio pool, and a design that, the hotel says, reinterprets the heritage of the old Jeju Grand Hotel. Choose it for a large hotel with full facilities. Watch out: the hotel’s own location page says its airport shuttle has been suspended since June 2020. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Shilla Stay Jeju, good value. At 100 Noyeon-ro, about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi or 20 by bus, with rooms, a buffet restaurant, a gym and a business corner. Choose it for a simple base at a lower price. Watch out: the hotel lists a gym but no pool. Check rates on Booking.com →
Jungmun: resort pools on the south coast
Jungmun is Jeju’s resort complex, on the south coast in the Seogwipo area, and the 600 bus serves it hotel by hotel; the route has a stop named for the Jusangjeolli cliffs, the columnar basalt of the coast here. It suits a stay in one place, with pools and restaurants on site.
Where to stay in Jungmun
- The Shilla Jeju, splurge. At 75 Jungmungwangwang-ro 72beon-gil, with indoor and outdoor pools, a Glamping Village and kids’ facilities. The hotel says bus 600 stops at the Shilla entrance stop, about three minutes’ walk from the front door. Choose it for a resort with the pools on site. Watch out: the hotel’s page gives the transfer from the airport as 70 to 90 minutes by taxi or bus. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Grand Josun Jeju, splurge. At 60 Jungmungwangwang-ro 72beon-gil, a five-star resort with six restaurants and bars, a heated pool open all four seasons, a spa and a kids’ club. The hotel says to board the 600 or 601 limousine in front of Gate 5, every 15 to 20 minutes. Choose it for a resort with something for children and adults. Watch out: price; the hotel’s published rate for a Deluxe room starts at ₩715,000 a night, tax included, before any offer. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Benikea Jungmun Hotel, budget. A three-star hotel of 46 family twin rooms at 166 Cheonjeyeon-ro, with breakfast free for every guest, by the hotel’s own page, parking, and the convention centre close by. Choose it to be in Jungmun at a lower price. Watch out: its listed facilities are a restaurant, a wine shop, a business centre and a conference room, not a pool. Check rates on Booking.com →
Seogwipo: the south-coast town
Seogwipo is the town at the south end of the 600 line: past Jungmun, the bus ends at Seogwipo KAL Hotel, 80 minutes from the airport by VisitJeju’s reckoning. From the hotel the shore looks out to the Seopseom, Munseom and Beomseom islands, with Hallasan behind. It is a town base where Jungmun is a resort one.
Where to stay in Seogwipo
- Seogwipo KAL Hotel, comfortable. At 242 Chilsipli-ro, on the south coast, with a palm garden and an octagonal pavilion. Its Ondol rooms all face Hallasan; the Deluxe rooms face the islands and the palm garden. Choose it for the south sea and the mountain from the window. Watch out: the view depends on the room type. Check rates on Booking.com →
Aewol and the west coast: the quieter sea
West of Jeju City, the coast road through Aewol and Hallim has hotels facing the sea, and Stanford’s own page puts Olle route 16 beside its grounds. Benikea Hotel Jeju gives the distance from the airport as about 20 minutes. It is the choice for a sea view and a coast road rather than for city streets.
Where to stay in Aewol and the west coast
- STANFORD Hotel & Resort Jeju, comfortable. At 406 Aewolhaean-ro, on a slope so that every room sees the Aewol sea, with hotel rooms, standalone pool villas and private pools. Choose it for a sea view from every room. Watch out: the outdoor pool is open from May to September only, 1pm to 9pm, and the hotel says weather can close it. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Kensington Resort Jeju Hallim, good value. At 530 Hallimhaean-ro, on the sea in front of Aewol and Hallim, with large rooms for families, one type listed at 21 pyeong (about 69 m² by our conversion) for up to four adults, and an ocean-view morning buffet on offer. The hotel’s directions: the 102 bus from stop 4 at the airport to the Hallim transfer stop, then five minutes by taxi. Choose it for a family room at a fair price. Watch out: the last stretch from the bus is by taxi.
- Benikea Hotel Jeju, budget. A three-star hotel of 188 rooms on the Aewol coast road, at Sineom-ri, about 20 minutes west of the airport by the hotel’s count, with a buffet restaurant and an outdoor pool in summer. Choose it for the west coast at a lower price. Watch out: the hotel’s page says it does not offer pick-up. Check rates on Booking.com →
Seongsan and the east: the sunrise peak
Seongsan Ilchulbong, “Sunrise Peak”, is a volcanic cone above the sea on Jeju’s east coast and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site; VisitJeju says the climb takes about 30 to 40 minutes, and the site is closed on the first Monday of every month. Staying in the east puts the sunrise close, at the price of a longer transfer.
Where to stay in Seongsan and the east
- Phoenix Island, splurge. At 107 Seopjikoji-ro, Seongsan-eup, a resort on the Seopjikoji cape with a heated poolside bar open all year and the Yumin Art Nouveau Museum. The hotel says it is 50 minutes from the airport and runs a complimentary airport shuttle for guests, first come first served. Choose it for sunrise and sunset in one place. Watch out: from Goseong-ri village the hotel’s directions give a taxi ride of 3.1 km. Check rates on Booking.com →
- Haevichi Hotel & Resort Jeju, splurge. At 537 Minsokhaean-ro, in Pyoseon-myeon on the south-east coast, with a hotel and a resort building and a shuttle from Bus Parking Lot B at the airport. By public transport, the hotel gives bus 121 or 122 from the stop in front of Gates 1 and 2 to the Jeju Folk Village stop, then a walk of about seven minutes. Choose it for pools and fitness on the south-east coast. Watch out: Pyoseon is not Seongsan, and the Superior rooms of 47 m² look onto the village, not the sea. Check rates on Booking.com →
How to book Jeju
- Count the tax. Add 10% unless the price says “tax included”: a ₩200,000 room costs ₩220,000.
- Match the base to the plan. The hotels’ own transfer times show the spread: 10 minutes to Lotte City Hotel, about 20 to Benikea Hotel Jeju, 50 to Phoenix Island, 70 to 90 to The Shilla Jeju.
- Check the room type for the view. It decides what you see at Seogwipo KAL Hotel and Lotte City Hotel.
- Compare totals. Hotel booking sites compared goes through where to book; check pool dates too, since Stanford’s outdoor pool runs May to September and Benikea Hotel Jeju’s in summer.
