Park admission is the part of this purchase with a fixed answer: the official ticket store priced a 1-Day Studio Pass at ¥9,400 for 25 November 2026, and KKday’s US$59.50 for the same day converts to the same figure. Where sellers differ is the rest: which Express Pass products they carry, which dates they have open, what happens if your plans change, and whether the ticket you receive is the park’s own QR code.

We compared the official English ticket store with Klook, KKday, GetYourGuide and Viator on 31 October 2026, for one fixed visit date. The park prices each day separately, so read the numbers as a snapshot and the pattern as the useful part.
| If you want… | Buy from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A plain 1-Day Studio Pass | The official store, or KKday | Same price on the day we compared; the official store is the park’s own checkout |
| An Express Pass with Super Nintendo World timed entry | The official store first, then KKday | KKday’s prices matched the official yen figure in every Express Pass cell we compared |
| To pay in US dollars | KKday or GetYourGuide | Both display USD; the dollar figures were the yen price converted at roughly ¥157.6 to US$1 |
| Flexibility if plans change | Read the listing, not the brand | Every seller we checked says the order cannot be cancelled once bought; date changes are limited |
| Viator | Not today | Both Universal Studios Japan pass listings we opened said the product was unavailable |
The same-day price table
Prices seen on 31 October 2026 for Wednesday 25 November 2026; they change daily. All are adult prices. The official store shows yen including tax; KKday and GetYourGuide show US dollars; Klook and Viator are explained below the table.
| Product (adult) | Official store (usjticketing.com) | Klook | KKday | GetYourGuide | Viator |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-Day Studio Pass | ¥9,400 | Not checked | US$59.50 | Not offered for that date | No listing available |
| 2-Day Studio Pass | ¥17,900 | Not checked | US$113.40 | US$113.59 | No listing available |
| Express Pass 4: Race & JAWS | ¥14,800 | Not checked | US$93.93 | US$115.55 | No listing available |
| Express Pass 4: Minecart & Jurassic Park | ¥26,800 | Not checked | US$170.09 | US$129.28 | No listing available |
| Express Pass 7: Minecart & Selection | Not on sale that date | Not checked | Not on sale that date | Not on sale that date | No listing available |
What the cells mean:
- Official. The ticket store that usj.co.jp’s English ticket page calls the “Official Web Ticket Store” (usjticketing.com). A banner there says it is operated by JTRWeb Ltd, “an authorised ticket reseller of Universal Studios Japan”, so it is the park’s designated store rather than the park’s own domain.
- Klook: not checked. Klook’s listing pages returned a “your request has been blocked” page to our browser, and we did not try to get round it. Its search cards showed “from US$96.30” (Studio Pass) and “from US$78.69” (Express Pass), but with no date or option, so we left them out of the table.
- KKday. Read from the date calendars on its listings. No December dates were open when we looked, which is why we used a November date.
- GetYourGuide. On 25 November its Studio Pass listing offered only the 1.5-Day (US$96.46) and 2-Day options. On the Express Pass listing, Express Pass 7 showed “Unavailable”, with 28 November the next date.
- Viator. The 1-Day Studio Pass page and the Studio Pass + Express Pass page both said “Sorry, this product is unavailable”, and its Universal Studios Japan page listed no Studio Pass or Express Pass.
What the pattern shows
Our arithmetic: at about ¥157.6 per US$1, KKday’s 1-Day, 2-Day, Race & JAWS and Minecart & Jurassic Park prices equal the official yen prices within rounding, and GetYourGuide’s 2-Day (US$113.59) and 1.5-Day (US$96.46) prices do too. So for those products, the choice between sellers is not a price choice.
On the date we compared, GetYourGuide listed Express Pass 4: Minecart & Jurassic Park at US$129.28, against the official ¥26,800 (about US$170). Check at checkout that it is the same pass, with the same Super Nintendo World timed entry, for your date.
Why one date is not enough
The park sets a price for each day. On the official calendar, a 1-Day Studio Pass cost between ¥9,400 and ¥11,900 across November, and the same pass is listed “from ¥8,400” for the cheapest dates. On 25 November the Express Pass 4: Race & JAWS cost ¥14,800 at the official store; on 7 November it cost ¥22,800.
The park’s notice of 30 June 2026 says Studio Pass pricing changed for admissions from 1 September 2026, “so that we can re-evaluate and adjust daily prices based on demand”. It advises buying as early as possible, and says no extra payment is due if your date’s price rises after you have bought. Express Pass prices were set in 2018 using a similar system, and the park has no plans to change them.
Check your own date on the official calendar first, then see whether a seller shows the same figure.
What the park itself says
All from usj.co.jp:
- Express Pass is an add-on. “Separate theme park admission required.” You need a Studio Pass or Annual Pass for the same date.
- It is not transferable, and is valid only on the date bought. Each guest needs their own ticket, shown as the whole screen, not just the QR code.
- One ride per listed attraction. Some are time-designated: you must go at the printed time, and late arrivals get no refund and no change of slot.
- Admission tickets do not allow re-entry after you leave the park, except Annual Studio Passes.
- Resale is prohibited, and the park says QR codes bought from resellers “through places such as ticket agency sites or online auctioning sites” can be nullified. It also publishes travel-agency pages. The English one, which we opened on 31 October, lists Klook, Trip.com, JTB, HIS, Traveloka and tiket.com, and does not name KKday, GetYourGuide or Viator. That is not proof they are unauthorised: KKday labels its listing “Officially Authorized Booking”, GetYourGuide labels its listings “Official ticket”, and the park’s Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese and Hong Kong agency pages may list others, which we did not open. It is a reason to read the delivery terms before you buy.
What each listing includes
Official store. Studio Passes (1, 1.5 and 2 Day) and 28 Express Pass products on the day we looked, from ¥9,000 (Express Pass 3: Classic & Show) to ¥99,000 (Premium Unlimited); Express Pass Premium starts at ¥41,000. The park’s ticket page says a Studio Pass bought in advance gives direct entry with no exchange. Express Pass items carry a notice that a separate Studio Pass for the same date is required.
Klook. Not checked. The park’s agency page lists Klook and links to its Studio Pass listing, described there as an e-ticket with QR-code direct entry.
KKday. The admission listing promises an “E-ticket by QR code right after booking: scan at the gate, no ticket counter” and also says “Please present the e-voucher on-site”. Its Express Pass listings show the Studio Pass under “Excludes”.
GetYourGuide. The entry-ticket listing says you receive a separate email with the official PDF ticket at least 24 hours before your visit, and that the GetYourGuide voucher “serves only as proof of purchase and cannot be scanned at the gate”. Only the QR code in the park’s PDF gets you in.
Viator. Nothing bookable for the park’s tickets. Its Universal Studios Japan page offered a Have Fun in Kansai Premium Pass (1 to 7 days, free cancellation) and private transfers.
Cancellation and date changes side by side
| Cancellation, as stated | Date change | Ticket you receive | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official store | “Cancellations are not allowed after purchase.” | Allowed for listed standalone passes, free, up to 90 days after the day following the original date; not for passes bundled with Express Passes | Direct entry with the store’s ticket |
| Klook | Not checked | Not checked | Not checked |
| KKday | “Once the order has been completed, it cannot be canceled, modified, or refunded.” Express Pass: “No cancellation” | One free change on standalone passes; Express Pass not eligible | E-voucher with QR code |
| GetYourGuide | “This activity is non-refundable” | Not stated on the pages we read | Official PDF by email at least 24 hours before the visit |
| Viator | No listing to read | No listing to read | No listing to read |
The decisive line is the first one. The park does not offer cancellation on a Studio Pass, so a reseller selling the same product is unlikely to offer more. What differs is the date-change process and who you contact if something goes wrong.
Super Nintendo World and timed entry
The park says that, depending on attendance, you may need an “Area Timed Entry Ticket” to enter some areas. You get one in advance with certain Express Passes or through select travel agencies, or through the official app after you enter the park. It may stop issuing them without notice, and an attraction can still be suspended after you are in the area.
So product names matter. On the official store, Express Pass 4: Race & JAWS and Express Pass 4: Minecart & Jurassic Park both say “Includes guaranteed timed entry to Super Nintendo World”. The Thrills MAX version, which we checked on the official store and KKday, lists none. KKday says a Studio Pass alone does not guarantee entry to the area on busy days; GetYourGuide says it may need a free timed-entry ticket from the app.
Five checks before you pay
- Pick the date first, then read that day’s price on the official calendar.
- Match the product name exactly. There are many Express Pass 4 variants with different attractions; “Race & JAWS” and “Minecart & Jurassic Park” are not interchangeable.
- Check for Super Nintendo World timed entry in the inclusions line if it is the point of your day.
- Read the delivery line: you want the park’s own QR code before you arrive.
- Assume no refund, and check whether a date change is allowed.

Getting there, and where to sleep
Universal City Station is on the JR Yumesaki line, and the park’s own estimate from Osaka Station is about 11 minutes. Our where to stay for Universal Studios Japan guide covers the seven official hotels and two Umeda options; where to stay in Osaka and Osaka or Kyoto: where to base yourself cover the wider choice.
For the days around the park: a three-day Osaka guide, Osaka for first-timers and things to do in Osaka; what to book in advance for Japan puts tickets in order. You will want data for the app and QR codes (eSIM guidance for Japan), and travel insurance is worth settling while the ticket cannot be refunded.

We may earn a commission from Klook, KKday, GetYourGuide and Viator if you book through links on this site. usj.co.jp, and the ticket store it links to, pays us nothing and has no relationship with us. The prices above are what each seller showed us on the date given; none of this changes what we report, and where a seller was blocked or had no listing, we say so.
Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper to buy Universal Studios Japan tickets on Klook, KKday or the official site?
For the products we compared on 25 November 2026, KKday's US$ prices equalled the official yen prices converted at about ¥157.6 per US$1, so there was no saving either way. We could not check Klook, because its listing pages blocked our browser, and Viator had no bookable pass listing. GetYourGuide's 2-Day price matched the official figure, but its two Express Pass 4 prices did not follow the same pattern.
How much is a 1-Day Studio Pass in 2026?
On the official English ticket store, an adult 1-Day Studio Pass was ¥9,400 for 25 November 2026, within a November range of ¥9,400 to ¥11,900. The store lists it "from ¥8,400" for the cheapest dates. The park changed how it sets Studio Pass prices from 1 September 2026 and advises buying early.
What is a Universal Express Pass, and do I need a ticket as well?
It is an add-on that gives access to shorter lanes for the attractions listed on that pass. The park says it requires separate admission, is valid only on the date and for the purchaser, and covers one ride on each listed attraction, with some attractions at set times.
Does an Express Pass include Super Nintendo World?
Some do. On the official store, Express Pass 4: Race & JAWS and Express Pass 4: Minecart & Jurassic Park include guaranteed timed entry to Super Nintendo World, while the Thrills MAX version lists none. A Studio Pass alone may need a free timed-entry ticket from the park's app on the day.
Can I cancel or change a Universal Studios Japan ticket?
The official store says cancellations are not allowed after purchase. Date changes are allowed for standalone passes such as the 1-Day, 1.5-Day and 2-Day Studio Pass, free of charge, up to 90 days after the day following the original date, with any price difference charged. Passes that include Express Passes are not eligible.
Is Viator a good place to buy Universal Studios Japan tickets?
On 31 October 2026, the two Viator listings we opened for a 1-Day Studio Pass, and for a Studio Pass plus Express Pass, both said the product was unavailable. Check Viator's Universal Studios Japan page on the day you buy, because listings come and go.
